Premier League Matches Returning To Saint Lucia
Covid has certainly interrupted a lot, even while Saint Lucia maintained a healthy status throughout the worst of the pandemic. Something that was unable to happen during the issue was Cricket premier league matches, but it is a sign that the world is adapting and finally able to return to normalcy. The Hero Caribbean Premier League is returning. Matches will be played at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. Matches for the 2022 season will occur in September. The games will occur on the 7th and 8th and the 10th and 11th.
Saint Lucian representatives like Lorine Charles-St Jules, the CEO of the Tourism Authority, is happy to welcome visitors and players. The CEO hopes everyone will enjoy the excellent games, hospitality, and the island.
All players and team members are welcome and hopefully will have time to explore the island. The Hero CPL is in its tenth year for being in Saint Lucia. Johnson Charles is a player on the Kings who pitches. In an interview, Charles stated he hopes to get their title back from St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
Last year the title went to the other Caribbean team. The games will begin at 10 am and 7 pm, depending on the match day. For those visiting the island, tickets can be purchased at Cell Outlets, Steves Barbershop, and the Box Office.
The games will be against Jamaica Tallawahs, Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
Other games will be played on those same days on other Caribbean islands. For example, the Royals and Trinbago Knight Riders will play in Barbados on Wednesday. The next day the Amazon Warriors and Patriots play in Guyana. The players will move around, except for Saint Lucia’s team, who will have a home game advantage.
