Restaurant Changes in Rodney Bay
Akasha, St Lucia’s premier villa rental likes to keep its guests informed about what is happening around St Lucia and this time we look at some of the changes on the restaurant scene in and around Rodney Bay.
A new restaurant/cafe which has opened and caught our eye is Elegance Cafe. This is a small establishment which opened in June and the owner was previously an Executive Chef from Le Sport which is a high end resort. The menu is different to many of the other restaurants. It is simpler, has items which are aimed at those who want a healthier option including steamed fish/chicken/pork. We tested the menu on several occasions and were so impressed that we decided to offer our guests the option of ordering meals from Elegance Cafe. Carlos, the owner has agreed to deliver any item off his menu.
In addition to what you might expect from an international menu Carlos has also created some tremendous curry dishes. They are authentic curries and taste amazing. Good luck to Carlos and his wife Eleanor on their latest venture. For those who do not know where it is – it is on the Gros Islet highway by the Shell garage.
Another change has been the closure of both the Ocean Club and Starfish in the Rodney Bay Marina. The good news is that Starfish has moved into Harmony Suites and also taken over the bar there – Cockpit Pub. Looking at their website and Facebook the food looks great. In their place will be Rituals Sushi which looks to be an interesting proposition – again good luck to them. Unfortunately, Ocean club does not look to be re-opening anytime soon.
Unfortunately, Lime (restaurant/bar) looks to have closed down – hopefully only temporary situation. The Happy Day bar seems to be up and running again with Ashley in charge, great for those who like to have half price drinks all day rather than just for an hour! This is a hidden gem with a great breeze blowing all day.
