Don’t stop the Carnival – The fun has kicked off in St Lucia

St Lucia now has a track record of having a super Carnival during June and July. The preliminary events to find the superstars – e.g. Calypso Queen have already been launched.

The event will be officially launched with a grand event aimed at the entire family on Sunday June 5 at a venue to be announced shortly but some details have already been released.  For an early peep at the agenda take a look at St Lucia Carnival Events

St Lucia Carnival has a mixed bag of entertainment such as theatre, music and lots of dance parties with costume dancers and artists to show off their talent. There are various stage shows with small dramas and skits that keep the viewers glued to the venue. Games and music competitions of various Soca and calypso bands make the function more interesting to watch and attend.

You can catch all of the action from St Lucia’s most Luxury Villa Akasha. So when you have had all the fun you can take, come back to your piece of paradise and just chill out. Just listen to some of the typical music you will hear at the Carnival Steel Band.

Some of the major events will take place at the Beausejour sporting compound – only 15minutes away from Akasha St Lucia’s most exclusive luxury villa rental. The national carnival queen show will be on Saturday July 9 at the Cultural Centre, Junior Carnival Sunday July 10, Inter-commercial house July 14 at the NCC, Panorama Friday July 15 Beausejour, Calypso Finals Saturday July 16 also at Beausejour.

One major change this year is that of a shift of the Soca Monarch to carnival Sunday July 17 along with the King and Queen of the bands. Other events which will be within easy reach include the Piton Soca Starz with their semi-finals on June 3 and 10 and Finals on June 28th in Gros Islet.
